Dr. Motilal Gupta
Founder Chairman
Dr. Motilal Gupta was born in 1934 in Faridabad, British India, into a family of businessmen known as the Mehndiwalas. A lifelong scholar and gold medalist, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Banaras Hindu University in 1955. Soon after, he joined the family business before embarking on his own entrepreneurial journey. In 1960, Smt. Kanta Gupta became a part of his life—much like the Yamuna meeting the Ganga—bringing strength, grace, and shared purpose to their path together, enriching the lives of many.
Dr. Gupta is the Founder Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple Society, Faridabad, more widely recognized as Sai Dham. As one of its founding members, he played a key role in establishing the NGO in 1988. Under his visionary leadership, Sai Dham has reached remarkable milestones and garnered support from various agencies, including renowned business houses, for advancing its impactful CSR initiatives.
A passionate advocate of social welfare, Dr. Gupta has been honoured with numerous awards for his exceptional contributions across various domains: free and quality education, skill development, healthcare, mass marriages for economically disadvantaged girls, women empowerment, environmental sustainability, nutrition, child protection, and menstrual health awareness through distribution of sanitary pads. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he led major relief efforts—organizing the distribution of nutritious food to migrant workers during the first wave and setting up an Oxygen Concentrator Bank at Sai Dham during the second wave, offering free support to those in need.
As of 2021, Sai Dham operates two schools, offering free, high-quality education to over 2,000 underprivileged children, along with meals, clothing, books, healthcare, and learning resources. The Shirdi Sai Baba School in Faridabad is affiliated with CBSE and has consistently achieved a 100% pass rate. In 2013, a second branch was opened in Niswara village, District Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, extending educational access to children in rural and underserved areas.
Beyond education, Sai Dham runs numerous dispensaries, provides vocational training and job placements for youth, and organizes mass marriages four times a year for the underprivileged—offering newlyweds essential household items ranging from bicycles to pressure cookers. Large-scale clothing drives are also conducted in remote villages across India. All these services are rendered without discrimination—irrespective of religion, caste, creed, or gender. Even in his eighties, Dr. Gupta remains the driving force behind every initiative. His visionary leadership, tireless dedication, and unmatched management skills continue to inspire all those around him.
Dr. Motilal Gupta is a saint and an extraordinary philanthropist. He has a dream that one day each and every child of India will receive quality education.
