Ethics and values
In most educational institutions, there is a total lack of the concept of human development and nation building in the education process. The emphasis instead, is on money-making and materialism. This has resulted in the gradual erosion of values among people and the body politic. The only way to arrest this decline is in providing value-orientation in our educational system.
Ethics and character are closely related. At Shirdi Sai Baba School, the children are encouraged to build a sound, moral character. Ethical discussions are initiated that makes them stronger beings while also enabling them to handle pressure at their home and career. Such discussions not only expose students to contrasting ethical opinions, they also provide an opportunity to understand the reasons behind the differences. As a result, students are able to expand their understanding of ethics, sometimes even altering their own values and ethical decision-making process.
